Tri-City Baptist Church exists to encourage all people to pursue a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. Our history dates back to 1989, when a small group of people, founded this church in Hickory, North Carolina. We are a local self-governing, autonomous church. That means that we are governed by our own, not an outside organization. We choose to participate in both local and the National Southern Baptist Convention.
About 600 people attend Tri-City each Sunday, and we have many volunteers working hard to make sure all guests are welcomed and encouraged.
Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. You'll see people dressed in all styles—from jeans to business suits. Our worship style is “blended"—meaning that services include both traditional and contemporary music.
Each service lasts about one hour and fifteen minutes. At the end of the Service, we have a guest reception located in the Gathering Place. This is an opportunity for guests to enjoy meet Pastor Ruffin, other pastoral staff, and receive a gift bag.
Getting connected at Tri-City is about relationships that get beneath the surface. Those kinds of relationship won’t come simply by attending worship services. They take time.
One way to get connected is to join a Bible study group in Sunday School. These are available for all ages—children, preteen, youth, college, men, and women. And even better, join a LIFE Group located throughout the neighborhoods of Catawba County.
Serving others also deepens your relationship with God and people. We offer a variety of service opportunities that will connect you with a team of staff and volunteers who work together in serving others and God.
